After the summer transfer window, Real Madrid still has the biggest spending cap in the Spanish league, although Barcelona made substantial improvements but is still far below its rival’s quota. The league disclosed each team’s expense cap on Thursday; Madrid’s quota increased from 727 million euros ($803 million) to about 755 million euros ($833 million).

Barcelona’s cap increased to 426 million euros ($470 million) from 204 million euros ($225 million) during the winter transfer market. However, if the Catalan team doesn’t take action to strengthen its finances, it may still find itself in a precarious situation heading into the next transfer window.

The Spanish team with the third-highest spending cap is Atletico Madrid, which increased from 303 million euros ($334 million) to 310 million euros ($342 million). With its ceiling slashed from around 150 million euros ($165 million) to just 2.5 million euros ($2.7 million), Sevilla was one of the clubs having the greatest difficulty.

The cost limit is the most sum that a club is permitted to spend on employees, coaches, and players. Spending on reserves, the youth system, and other things is also included.

Every Spanish league club has a different spending cap that varies according to income, expenses, and debts. It corresponds to about 70% of a club’s earnings. Clubs that are overspending should look for methods to cut expenses or draw in new funding.
