Australia and Pakistan are scheduled to lock horns in the second game of the two-match ODI series on Friday, November 8 at the Adelaide Oval.
Australia, led by Pat Cummins, are already 1-0 ahead in the series after winning by two wickets in the opening game at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Mitchell Starc won the Player of the Match award after he finished with figures of 10-3-33-3.
Pat Cummins also played a massive part in the game. The speedster, who played his first ODI since the World Cup last year, picked the wickets of Kamran Ghulam and Naseem Shah. Thereafter, he scored 32 off 31 to take the Aussies past the finish line.
After being asked to bat first, Pakistan scored 203 in 46.4 overs. Mohammad Rizwan, who led the Pakistan ODI team for the first time, top-scored with a 44-run knock off 71 balls. Australia chased down the target with 16.3 overs to spare.
Haris Rauf breathed fire with three wickets to bring Pakistan back into the contest. But Cummins held his nerves to take Pakistan home. Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets while Naseem and Mohammad Hasnain took one wicket apiece.
Babar Azam, who did not play the last two Tests against England, returned with a knock of 37 off 44 balls. Josh Inglis and Steve Smith scored 49 and 44 respectively.
