On Wednesday, Champai Soren, the former chief minister of Jharkhand, announced his resignation from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), expressing discontent with the party’s present policies and methods of operation.
Champai Soren resigned as an MLA and a minister in the Jharkhand Cabinet on August 30. He is scheduled to join the BJP.
Champai Soren announced his resignation and pledged to keep fighting for the rights of Jharkhand’s marginalized communities, Dalits, and tribal people. He gave notice of his resignation to JMM chief Shibu Soren, citing issues with the party’s internal operations.
Soren also issued a second resignation letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and notified the Speaker of his intention to step down from the state assembly.
