With Apple, Samsung and Google done with their top smartphone launches of the year, it’s time for Chinese phonemakers to show their mettle. In the recent weeks, two smartphones in particular have been making the buzz in the tech circles, iQOO 13 and OnePlus 13. The two phones have been rumored to be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and come with many major upgrades over their predecessor.
In the latest set of updates for iQOO 13, Vivo vice president Jia Jingdong confirmed the longstanding rumor that the latest iQOO device will indeed house a massive 6,150mAh battery and support for 120W of ultra fast charging. Moreover, Jindong also states that despite sporting a considerably larger battery than the 5,000mAh one on the iQOO 12, the iQOO 13 will still be ‘extremely thin and light’.
iQOO 13 has also been confirmed to be powered by the latest generation of Qualcomm chipset, meaning that the smartphone may still be the first device to come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. iQOO 13 will feature a 7K ultra-large area VC cooling vapor chamber in order to ensure that the Snapdragon chip underneath maintains ‘cold energy under high loads’.
The Vivo sub-brand also confirmed that iQOO 13 will come with a self-developed e-sports chip Q2 gaming chip which Jingdong stated will bring PC level 2K texture super-resolution and native-level 144 FPS super-frame.
One interesting feature of the iQOO 13 will be the presence of OLED circular polarized light eye protection technology which iQOO says it will be the first to implement. This technology is said to have a similar kind of effect from phone light that one gets from natural light and hence prevent the eyes from getting tired after long periods of using the phone.
iQOO 13 India launch:
iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya had shared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, which suggests that the iQOO 13 could be slated to launch in the country soon. While a confirmed launch date is yet to be revealed by the brands, reports suggest that the iQOO 13 could launch in India on December 3.
