Musheer Khan thanks BCCI, fans in emotional video after road accident

Mumbai cricketer Musheer Khan thanked the BCCI, Mumbai Cricket Association and fans for their support after the road accident. The video was shared by Sarfaraz Khan on his Instagram story as Musheer and father Naushad, who were part of the accident, spoke about it. Musheer was sporting a neck brace as he and his father thanked the almighty for giving them a new life. Musheer Khan is reported to be in stable condition after a road accident on the outskirts of Lucknow on Saturday, September 28.

Musheer, the younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarafaraz Khan, was en route to Lucknow for the upcoming Irani Cup match with his father, Naushad, when their car collided with a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway. Musheer sustained a neck fracture, while his father suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Medanta Hospital, where they are currently receiving care under the supervision of Dr. Dharmendra Singh.

Musheer-Naushad react after the accident

“Good evening. I first want to thank the almighty for the new life. Also to those who prayed for us. Our well-wishers and fans. Our relatives. We thank everyone. Also, we also want to express gratitude to MCA and BCCI who are taking care of Musheer. And what’s for the future, that update will also be given by them. I will just ay, whatever we haven’t got, we need to wait for that. Whatever we have got, we have to be grateful. This is what life is,” Naushad said in the video posted by Sarfaraz Khan on his story.

“I want to thank Almighty for the new life. I am fine for now. My dad was there with me, he is also fine. Thankyou for your prayers,” Musheer said.

The Mumbai Cricket Association revealed that the MCA medical team is monitoring his progress. The statement also mentioned that the 19-year-old will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation once he’s fit to travel.

Musheer’s injury will sideline him for at least three months, causing him to miss the upcoming Irani Cup starting October 1. He had kicked off his domestic season impressively, scoring a century for India B in the Duleep Trophy and making significant contributions to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy victory earlier this year.
