Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah and women’s team captain unveiled India’s new ODI jersey at the board headquarters in Mumbai on Friday, November 29. The unveiling was done ahead of India’s departure to Australia for a three-match ODi series, starting December 5.
The new jersey has a tri-colour gradient on the shoulders, which is a change from the previous version which had only the iconic three stripes in whites.
Harmanpreet Kaur confirmed that the Indian women’s team will first wear the new ODI jersey when they take on the West Indies in a three-match ODi series from December 22 to 27 in Vadodara.
“It’s an honour to unveil the jersey today. It’s a really proud feeling that we will be the first ones to wear the jersey against the West Indies,” Harmanpreet Kaur said in a video shared by the BCCI.
“I am really happy. I like the look. The tri-colour on the shoulders is looking really beautiful. Happy that we have got a special ODI jersey,” she added.
