Real Madrid’s backline has been hit hard this season, with multiple defenders sidelined due to injuries. Eder Militao is out for the entire season following an ACL injury, David Alaba is yet to return after suffering an ACL tear last year, and Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vasquez have also faced long-term injuries. In light of these setbacks, Real Madrid is reportedly looking to sign a dependable center-back, and Laporte, who remains a standout name on their shortlist, could be the ideal solution. “I’d obviously listen to the Real Madrid call, you can’t ignore clubs like that..It feels good to see the links. I’m not so informed about that, but it’s obviously nice,” Laporte said.

Before moving to the Saudi Pro League in a big-money transfer to join Al Nassr, Laporte enjoyed a highly successful spell at Manchester City. He was a consistent first-choice center-back for the English club between 2018 and 2023, during which he was key to their Premier League dominance.
