Russia-Ukraine war: 50 more Indians are being rescued as 45 Indians were freed from the Russian Army

Reportedly, local operatives used social media to entice Indians who are serving as combatants in Russia. From New Delhi to Tamil Nadu, the human trafficking network provided these victims access to lucrative jobs.

Forty-five Indians who were forced to enlist in the Russian army against their will to fought alongside Ukrainian forces on the battlefield have been rescued and released from the Russian military, according to a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday.

This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin promised Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Moscow that the military would free all Indians who had been falsely drafted into the army and then made to fight against Ukrainian forces on behalf of their country.

The spokesperson continued by saying that attempts are being made to rescue the fifty other Indian nationals who are still fighting on the front lines.

Their passports were seized upon their arrival in Russia, and they were made to undergo military training prior to being enlisted in the Russian army and sent to participate in the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
