Sikandar Raza to lead Zimbabwe in Pakistan T20Is, Criag Ervine captain for ODIs

Zimbabwe have named their squads for the ODI and T20I series against Pakistan. Sikandar Raza will lead the T20I team, while left-handed batter Craig Ervine has been named as the captain for the 50-over format.

Zimbabwe have named three uncapped players in their ODI squad, namely Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa and Tinotenda Maposa. Gwandu has already played six T20Is and picked up as many wickets at an economy rate of 7.90.

Musekiwa has taken part in five T20Is, scoring 38 runs at an average of 38 and a strike-rate of 180.95. Maposa, on the other hand, is yet to make his international debut, having played in five first-class and three List A matches.

“The series against Pakistan is an important platform for Zimbabwe, and we believe the ODI squad we have selected is well-rounded. The presence of seasoned players like Craig, Sikandar and Sean provides stability, while young players like Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Dion Myers and the uncapped trio bring energy and the potential for game-changing moments,” David Mutendera, Zimbabwe’s Convener of Selectors, said.

Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe starts with the opening ODI on Sunday, November 24 at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Thereafter, the T20Is will take place from December 1 to 5 in Harare.
