Jones would once again pull out the dance and claimed that he was proud to be a great American champion.
“I’m proud to be a great American champion. I’m proud to be a CHRISTIAN American champion,” said Jones.
Jones would go on and present his title to Trump after his win as well.
How did Jones beat Miocic?
Jones opened the fight with a series of powerful body kicks that visibly stunned Miocic. The former champion struggled to find his footing as Jones capitalized, taking the fight to the mat. From there, Jones asserted his dominance, unleashing a barrage of sharp elbows that left Miocic bloodied and the crowd roaring in support of the reigning champion.
By the end of the first round, Miocic’s face was marked by a deep cut from the relentless elbows. The 42-year-old barely made it to the buzzer, surviving a round that was all Jones.
In the second round, Miocic managed to regain some footing by keeping the fight standing and landing a few clean punches. Despite his efforts, Jones maintained control, dictating the pace and continuing to showcase his superiority throughout the round.
The third round turned into a gritty exchange, with both fighters landing solid shots. While Miocic appeared to weather the storm and aim for the championship rounds, Jones delivered a devastating spinning kick to the body. The blow crumpled Miocic to the canvas, and as Jones moved in to finish the job, the referee intervened, awarding a decisive victory to the 37-year-old champion.
After the win, Jones hinted that he won’t be retiring just yet.
